It's been nine days since Charlie was tragically murdered.

I cannot comprehend how anyone could take the life of another human being, all because you disagree with their opinion. It's also alarming to think that more people, like Charlie, will be slain because of their beliefs and opinions, just like in medieval England.

As a mother, my heart breaks for Charlie's wife and children. A husband and daddy cruelly taken far too soon, under terrible circumstances.

What would God say? Well, the sixth commandment is, "You shall not murder." (Deuteronomy 5:17) Death through Adam, life through Christ. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Deuteronomy 6:23)

It could be said that the people who murder don't believe in God, so the above isn't applicable. That's true. However, as a Christian, I feel for those who do not have faith in Christ. What a terrible existence, to think here on earth, is it. Unbelievers have nothing to look forward to. They turn down the wonderful opportunity to have life eternal. How sad.

God has given us the gift of life through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The price for this gift is small. However, as in Charlie's case, it can also be huge. People like him, who try to educate students and adults alike, can pay the ultimate price. Those who continue to kill are pure evil, and they will be judged. However, as Jesus said, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." (John 8:7)

We will all be judged by our Saviour Jesus Christ. He said, "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me - just as the Father knows me and I know the Father - and I lay down my life for the sheep; I have other sheep that are not of this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life - only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father." (John 10:14).

I hope this piece does not come across as patronising. I certainly don't mean to.

Until next time!

God bless'
