The Dawn of Hope

Easter is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. It’s the day we move from the shadows of the tomb into the blinding light of the Resurrection. While the world celebrates with spring colors and chocolates for many, it is a radical celebration of the moment death lost its sting.

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said." — Matthew 28:6

It was even hard for some of his Disciples to believe that he would rise. They lived with him, knew him better than anyone. Yet some did not believe. That's because they thought as 'humans' as 'man' thinks, not as God thinks. Even when Mary Magdalen told them that Jesus had appeared to her, some still didn't believe. Doubting Thomas springs to mind.

When Jesus rose from the tomb, it sent a message to all that even on the darkest of days, there is hope. Our past is forgiven: The sacrifice of Jesus on Good Friday. Our present has purpose: We serve a living Saviour who walks with us daily. Our future is secure: Because He rose, we have the promise and proof of eternal life.

Everything that happened was predicted. Everything that is happening in the world today is predicted in the Bible. Yet so many do not believe. They think mediums, witchcraft, and evil rituals are the answer.

Celebrating Easter isn't just about a single Sunday service; it’s about carrying the "Resurrection Power" into our everyday lives. Here are three ways to keep the Easter spirit alive:

  • Practice Gratitude: Reflect on the grace given at the Cross. When we realise the magnitude of what was paid for us, our perspective on daily stresses begins to shift.

  • Live as a New Creation: In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are told the old has gone and the new is here. Use this season to leave behind old habits or grudges that no longer serve your walk with Christ.

  • Share the Light: Easter is the perfect time to extend an invitation—not just to a church service, but to a conversation about the hope you carry.

Wishing you all a peaceful and happy Easter.

Until next time.
